Who Travels with Autentika Food Travel? 
Autentika Food Travelers are people who are looking for an authentic, real food experience. They enjoy eating from roadside stands as much as they enjoy 5-star meals. They're curious, interested and engaged in food and the world around them. They enjoy meeting new people, learning new things and explore what life has to offer. 

Why Small Group Tours?
Autentika's small group tours and personally researched and curated itineraries allow our guests to immerse themselves in the culture. 

Small Group Travel or Private Tour? Which should I choose? 
Our small groups tours have set departure dates and are ideal for solo travelers and couples. Since our tours are never more than 12 people, we're able to be flexible and have a cadence that's relaxing while still experiencing a great deal. 

Our private tours are ideal for groups of friends, larger families and are offered year round on the dates you choose. For unescorted tours, we have a minimum requirement of two people per private tour. For escorted private tours, we require a minimum of six guests.

Can I bring along a non-cooking partner?
Absolutely. We understand that oftentimes one part of a couple doesn't share the same interest as the other but they still like to travel together. We welcome partners who are not interested in attending our cooking classes. During that time, partners are welcome to explore the area on their own or enjoy some downtime. They're welcome to join all the rest of the meals and excursions during the trip. Please inquire for reduced fees for non-cooking partners by giving us a call. 

Solo Traveler? 
Hotel rooms are priced per room and our tours are priced based on two person sharing one room. We love the spirit of solo travelers but we do require an additional fee for the luxury of having one's own room. That said, we are more than happy to match up like-minded, solo travelers on our tours so they may take advantage of the double occupancy rate. Just call us and we can discuss. 

What's included?
Each itinerary is different but for all our tours, boutique hotel or villa accommodations, most meals with beverages including alcohol are included (except where stated in the itinerary), internal ground transportation where noted in itinerary, cooking classes and demonstrations, tastings, countryside excursions, cultural tours, museum and gallery fees, taxes, service charges and most gratuities (on our group tours) are included. 

What's not included?
Our tours do not include: airfare to your tour destination, airport transfers (although these can be arranged), car rentals should you wish to rent a vehicle and not participate in group ground transfers and subsequent parking fees, visas, health insurance (where required), expenses related to a personal nature. 

Do you arrange air travel and visas?
We do not arrange air travel however we are happy to assist you with any information that will make booking your airfare easier. Visas are also not included unless specifically noted in the tour description. Passports are required.

What can I expect on a group tour?
Autentika Food Travel promotes vacations that allow for relaxation, learning and exploration. Our trips combine a good mix of group time, cultural learning opportunities through interacting with community we are visiting, excellent food and drink, lovely accommodations, a chance to be in nature and a smoke-free environment. 

Do you allow children on your tours? 
Although our group tours are not suitable for children due to alcohol and wine tastings, we are happy to book private tours for families with children and create suitable itineraries. We can tailor the activities for you and your children that are suitable for their ages. 

What is your privacy policy?
We are committed to protecting your privacy. We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to other companies with the exception of any collaborative tour partners that we may working with to execute your chosen tour. With your permission, we will keep your up to date via email about services or special offers we think you may find of interest.

What's your cancellation policy?
A complete description of all of our terms and conditions including cancellation policy can be found in our terms and conditions document here. Generally speaking, our cancellation policy is thus; a minimum deposit of $2,000 is required to reserve a space on our tours. Any remaining payment must be paid at least 60 days before scheduled trip departure. Cancellation notices must be made in writing. All amounts paid are fully refundable if we receive written notice of cancellation, in our office not postmarked, prior to 60 days before scheduled trip departure. Cancellations notices received within 60 days from scheduled departure are non-refundable. No exceptions to this cancellation policy will be made for any reason, including personal emergencies. There is no refund for unused portions of a trip, leaving a program early, or for arriving late. FOR OUR CUBA TOUR: There are no refunds of any deposits or payments regardless of time or cancellation reasons due to our contracted Partner's policies.  We strongly recommend travelers purchase trip insurance for any travel they plan.

We were SO GLAD we purchased trip insurance for our planned Mexico trip. My wife took ill two days before our departure with a severe sinus infection. Her doctor would not clear her to fly.
