About The "Cuban Experience" Tour

Upon entering the country you immediately sense the excitement. Havana’s bustling international airport accommodates curious travelers all anticipating this socialist cum capitalist society’s rich history and culture. Because of Cuba’s highly educated population (95.9% literacy rate and 92% of the population with university degrees) music, dance and the culinary arts have flourished.

On this adventure, we’ll learn to cook classic Cuban dishes while hearing chefs talk about their unique challenges with limited supplies and materials—and how that encourages their creativity. We’ll visit local farms and plantations, learning about the diverse strategies farmers use to maintain their sustainable and organic crops. We’ll eat in the best privately owned restaurants, or paladares, tasting local cuisine that bursts with flavor and seeps into your soul. We’ll go outside of Havana to visit small communities and seaside villages, and we’ll slow down in the Viñales Valley, where traditional techniques are still used to grow tobacco. Then we’ll return to Havana to dance the night away with locals on the Malecón, the iconic seaside walkway.

On this legally authorized, five-night, six-day tour you’ll experience the real Cuba. We include engaging activities plus plenty of free time to explore on your own. You'll wander the winding streets of Habana Vieja (Old Havana), pop into small artist galleries and local shops, eat lunch with locals and get to know this amazing country and its people!
